So we made it to the end of the week and guess what…it is cold! We will be staying indoors today to work on squats. We have an interesting twist on warming up for the squat movement today. Yes, you will still do the normal squat warm-up sets but today we are also going to use wallballs to get the blood flowing!
skill: wallballs
Have your coach check your form and make sure to keep your knees out and stay off your toes during the wallballs. Now for the fun part…do a single set of max wallballs. There is no stopping or pausing during the wallball motion. Once you stop OR pause that is your score. Highest score wins!
wod: squats
3×5 warm-up sets
3×5 working sets – 70%-80% of you 1RM. Remember. You must have a full range of motion!

Pretty funny. Although I think the author misses the point of going Paleo. Whether or not there were grains (no the processed ones we have today) is not a huge concern in the argument for Paleo.
The premise of “going Paleo” from my viewpoint is to greatly reduce the amount of grains we ingest. I am by no means a hardcore Paleo eater (see you for beers tonight) but I do flip the food pyramid upside down and eat that way.
Also in the study the grains that were found on the teeth were “starch grains” which are quite different from our favorites such as pasta and breads…:-) Although I have no doubt that our Paleo brothers and sisters would have loved a good loaf of bread and a beer!

Amyloplast (Starch Grain): PLANT CELLS ONLY
A membrane-bound organelle containing concentric layers of starch (amylopectin). This organelle is commonly found in subterranean storage organs, such as tubers (potatoes), corms (taro & dasheen), and storage roots (sweet potatoes). Amyloplasts are also found in bananas and other fruits.
