Just a quick note to let everyone know that the Indianapolis Sprint Triathlon Series is starting up June 18th, 2011. We have about 10 athletes participating in the first one and a few of them are new to triathlons! To all the first timers who signed up…YOU ROCK!
The series is 3 races long and is in the Indianapolis area so there is not to much travel and there is a good chance you will see at least a few of your fellow CrossFitters there. You can participate in only one race or all three, that is up to you.
We are also in the process of developing a partnership with the Team Go triathlon club to help with coaching in any of the 3 different parts of the races. Team Go works out of the Monon Center and is local to you and even better it is a short run from CrossFit Carmel. Check out their blog and their Facebook page!
Also if you have yet to discover the CrossFit Endurance page you need to check it out. There is a ton of useful information and endurance wods that fit right in with our CrossFit training methods. Read up and have some fun!
The distance for a Sprint Triathlon are:
500 Meter Swim
10 Mile Bike
3 Mile Run
Your training at CrossFit Carmel has prepared you for the hard work and endurance needed for these events! All you need is the ability to swim (you can back stroke and dog paddle if needed…I did my first time!) a bike ( I ride a mountain bike), and shoes to run in.
Check with your coaches if you need any information about the races or about any race you are considering participating in this summer. Let’s start the summer with a swim, bike, and run!!!

Tim and I are relying solely on our CF training to get us through this one. (plus a few additional very short runs). It’s our first Triathlon, and it’ll be a blast to do it with everyone!
YES! This is going to be a ton of fun!!! I am willing to run or ride at anyones pace if they would like!
Let me correct that statement…anyone whose pace is slow enough…
Lin I will try to stay with you….one 1 condition….we MUST beat Tim!!
I have group ride/runs that I will be setting up for anyone interested to join with Team GO! Working closely with Lin and Brenda to offer tons of information and group training opportunities for all CrossFit fans! The more support…… the more fun it will be to race!
I really want to do this one i love triathlons there so fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
