Congratulations Nick and Dave for a great race on Sunday! Great examples of CFE put to the test.
Today we are going to get another long run in. We haven’t done a 5k for a while so that’s what we are doing tonight. The weather should be perfect so this would be a great chance to set some new pr’s!
WOD: 5k Run for time

Thanks Mason and thank you all for the unbelievable support both on the CFC website and on FB. It meant a ton when we were out there.
So – a fun fact to help support the CF and CFE pairing: Some stats on the “Average Ironman Athlete” that they posted in our welcome packet:
Average Training Distances/Week
Miles per week swimming: 7
Miles per week biking: 225
Miles per week running: 48
Nick/Dave Training Distances/Week (Approximate):
Miles per week swimming: 2
Miles per week biking: 80
Miles per week running: 6
CF/CFE works!
Thanks for the stats Nick. Those are incredible numbers! I am proud of both of you and look forward to some great Ironman stories…
To put those numbers in perspective-the average athlete would have spent 25 hours per week training. Nick and Dave – 6.
BIT more than 6…but yes, big difference.
Great point Nick! For any Ironman hopefuls (and all others interested) that was an estimate based strictly on mileage. This is assuming time for the actually activity and doesn’t factor in the rest periods. Since these workouts are all high intensity intervals, there is almost always rest in between, so workouts would realistically approach to 12 or 13 hours per week. This is in addition to the normal CF wods. Sorry for the confusion! It’s just so exciting to know that there is an alternative to the 30 hour training weeks if this is something you are interested in!
I think CFE should do the CFC warm up before the 5K today!!!
I agree Sarah!
Deal.
