I first stepped into CrossFit Carmel in October 2010 after a friend was talking about Crossfit Carmel at work. I had traditionally gone to “globogyms” and experimented with some home exercise programs like P90X. I can still recall coming to the gym that first time thinking I knew what I was doing and that I was in pretty good shape. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The first workout nearly killed me and I was immediately hooked. I loved the competitive environment and how everyone cheered me on to succeed (they definitely had the chance because most were finished while I was just trying to breathe). I have been completely hooked ever since and love everything about CrossFit and our gym.
In February 2012, I chose to take my understanding of CrossFit one step further and received a Level 1 Trainer Certificate. I have been coaching since August 2012 and love teaching and watching people improve their mechanics and fitness level.
Becoming part of the community at CrossFit Carmel not only provided me with a place to exercise, but also a place to meet new people and establish some great friendships. The atmosphere in the gym and the people keep me motivated to coach and exercise at my highest level.
Outside of the Gym, I’m a Director of Pharmacy at IU Health and have been with that organization for the past 14 years. I’m also involved in community service with the Intercollegiate YMCA as a Board Member.
